On this Sunday the children run the service: they read the scripture, they recite, they sing, and they perform the items they have been rehearsing for weeks. The adults sit and watch. Afterwards there is a to'ona'i, the Sunday meal, and the children are served first.
It is observed across Samoa, American Samoa and the Samoan diaspora, and it is one of the few days in the calendar where the whole family is dressed to a single rule.
